1. International Pairs UK runs a Matchplay event each year.
1.1. The deadline for registration for the Matchplay is the end of March and the four rounds are played in April, May.
2. The entry fee is £30.00 per pair and must be paid by the deadline for registration – otherwise the pair will not be entered into the draw.
2.1. Payment can be made online via paypal at www.golffrontiers.com or by posting a cheque to International Pairs UK office.
2.2. Once accepted, entries cannot be withdrawn, rescinded or refunded.
3. Each competitor must be a current member of and have a handicap issued by a golf club affiliated to either the English, Welsh or Scottish Union of Golf Clubs or any Ladies equivalent golfing Union.
4. Competitors must be a minimum of 16 years of age by the date the first round starts. Any pair consisting of two competitors less than 18 years of age must be accompanied by a responsible adult to all matches.
5. Pairs may be made up of golfers from different golf clubs. If competitors in a pair are members at different clubs, they may choose either club as their home venue. However, once a pair has played a home match, they cannot change their home club during the remainder of the competition.
6. Under no circumstances may a pair change one of its members after the first match has been played.
7. Pairs will be grouped into brackets of a maximum of 16 pairs in their local region.
7.1. No distinction is made in terms of sex. All pairs, whether men’s, ladies or mixed, will be entered into a single draw for each region.
7.2. Regions will be determined by the geographic location of registered pairs.
7.3. If there are not sufficient entries within a region, the organisers reserve the right to cancel the competition for that region. In this case, entry fees will be refunded in full.
8. The first round draw consists of a maximum of 8 matches in which pairs will be drawn either home or away. In the first round, the team drawn at the top in each match will play at home. The winning team who are the first to inform the Tournament Office of the match result will be the home team in the next round and so on. Any teams that have received a bye in the first round will play away in the second round. In the event that both pairs in a second round match received a bye in the first round, the top pair in the match is the designated home team. The venue for any match may be changed to the opponents’ home club if there is mutual agreement.
