Over the past five years, the International Pairs competition has become the fastest growing golf event both in Canada, and in more than 30 other countries around the world. It is a handicapped tournament for amateur golfers. It is a two-person event held at golf clubs across Canada with the winning pair from each club advancing to The Canadian Final. Winners from The Canadian Finals then travel to St. Andrews, Scotland to represent Canada in The World Final ...all expenses paid.

Why run an International Pairs event at your club? The reasons are simple:

At private clubs it adds value for members
At public courses it's an opportunity to generate additional revenue

  • It's a simple format and very easy to administer
  • Each club can determine the format for the club qualifying event
  • International Pairs tournaments can be for men, ladies or mixed teams
  • Minimum 30 teams must participate to qualify
  • Overlay the International Pairs tournament on an existing event
  • Run it on a Member-Member or Member-Guest event
  • Run a number of qualifying events over several weeks
  • Qualifying events at the club level can run over a day, weeks or months to achieve the minimum 30 teams
  • Players need an official handicap when they arrive at The Canadian Final
  • Maximum handicap for men is 24 and ladies is 32
